Recieving Your Puppy: Your Puppy will have a Harness provided by me at the meet up, if you have a harness that fits perfectly then the Puppy can use your harness. You will need to bring a regular short leash and a retractable leash to pick up the Puppy. Bring water and water bowl, not a tiny one for a Yorkie, but one that actually hold around 1 quart of water. When we meet at the meeting place or your house, the meeting will be 1 to 1.5hrs long. I want to give the Puppy time to get to know you as much as possible before I leave it behind. If we meet other than your house, I will carry the Puppy to your car and say my final goodbye to the Puppy. You Must have 2 people in the car for picking up the Puppy, one to drive and one to comfort/care for the Puppy. The Puppy needs one person sitting in the back seat right beside the Puppy and holding the Puppy at times. The bond can begin on that car ride home. When in route to the home, please do not get the Puppy out on the ground for a pee break, the Puppy will not go 99% of the time stopped with strangers in new surroundings. If one keeps stopping that only makes the trip longer, therefore the Puppy is now holding it longer. Upon arriving at home, carry the Puppy to your lawn and place it on the big pine shavings area to pee, don't go inside until it pees outside. Carry the Puppy inside, hold the Puppy, let it look around while in your arms, now go back outside for a few minutes. Go back in and place the Puppy on the floor, stay right with it, do not let it look all through the house crying looking for me or littermates. It's all about keeping the stress level as low as possible for the first few days. To proper house train a Puppy you must take it outside to the Pine Shavings 4 to 6 times per hour that the Puppy is awake. Puppy should be house trained in 48 hrs at the most. My Puppies can be more scared of someone standing tall above them, if you get down to their level they will respond to you much better. They are always happier outside over inside...unless it's hot, they prefer it really cold. Keeping the stress level of the Puppy low as possible, stress lowers the immune system of the Puppy and makes for a hard transition. Don't take the Puppy for car rides other that to the Veterinarrian for the first week. Don't have extra company coming over overwhelming the Puppy in it's new home until the Puppy has been there for 3 or 4 days. Stay right with the Puppy for the first 4 days, sleep on the floor with the Puppy, some just bring a mattress to the living room and sleep on it with the Puppy. Please cater to this Puppy like you would if you brought a scared child into your life. No caging, crating or placing in a room alone, placing on the floor and then the humans sleep in the bed, the Puppy needs you right down by it when it wakes up, it don't need to feel alone in a strangers home. If you have small children, please do not let them run after the Puppy, or run towards the Puppy, this Puppy will feel being persued by strangers, after the Puppy is feeling at home with the new situation, then the kids and Puppy will chase and play all the time. This breed can pick up on stress, tension, and arguing in a new home and start getting scared. This breed takes in every single thing it see's and hears in it's new Home, that can be overwhelming to a small Puppy alone with strangers. The Puppy will miss me, but the Puppy will miss it's littermates much more. This Puppy has never been away from them until now being with it's new Family. Please be aware of what the Puppy is going through. After 1 week that start car rides, like 1 to 2 blocks, then back home, next day 4 blocks, then back home, next day 8 blocks, then back home. After a few days of this, start sitting in a busy parking lot at a store, now the Puppy can see all the different cars, People ect...from the safety of the car. When the Puppy has had it's 12 week Vaccination, give it one more week, now it's safe for the Puppy to be out in the World of Parvo. Parvo can be anywhere and can last up to 7 years on the ground, pavement, concrete ect.. Socialize the Puppy all you can to make it a great Dog that has no fears. I will call a few hours after departing from the Puppy to check on it, I will call the next day again to check on the Puppy. I can't just hand over a Puppy and not ever know how it's doing. Please send pictures starting the first day to show me the Puppy is ok and happy. Future pictures will always show me you still have the Puppy and it has a great life.
